My love for nail polish

The very first time I saw real nail art on a girl's hand, I just couldn't keep my eyes off of her nails. Her nails were perfectly manicured and decorated with different colours of nail polish. It was a very chic but yet simple design. Something we all can have on a daily basis.

Summer favourites

You might have noticed that I didn't do a July and August favourites. That's because I wanted to make a Summer favourites instead. Now lots of things happened this Summer. Working very serious in the hospital for a month to travelling all by myself to London. I'm so glad I could share it with you. Today Summer is officially over so here are my Summer favourites.

It's a sad day because today it is my last day in London. I had the most incredible time here. Traveling on my own wasn't bad after all. It was the best idea ever.

I had heard of the ice cream streets in Nottinghill, so I decided to go and take a look by myself many times. I am very glad I did. The houses look amazing! So beautiful with pastel colours, I just couldn't stop taking pictures. I also walked through the Portobello Road market where you can buy beautiful vintage things.

Met Matt again. Oh the fun we had together. Today we decided to go to Buckingham Palace. Apparently the guards changed today and we were right on time for the ceremony even though we didn't knew anything about it at all.

I finally met a good friend who lives near London. We decided to spend the whole day together and he was my guide for today. Not a good one but I came home safely. LOL! Matt is the best tour guide ever.

I think Carnaby street is my favourite place to have lunch so far. I went to Pret A Manger for a take away lovingly handmade sandwich with English chicken, bacon, salad, tomatoes and mayonnaise (that's a mouthful). As for drinks, I had mandarin & lychee.

I woke up early to do yoga at the park. I actually thought that I would be the only one since it's a weekday and most of the people have to work? but there were so many peoples having their workout in the early morning. Some of them had a run with their backpack ( where they have their costume or working clothes in) and run to work. They get dressed, get to work and after work they get dressed back into their workout outfits and run back home. Amazing. I've never seen or heard of this before.

Tips on how to pack

If you’ve been following me on Instagram and Facebook then you probably know that I booked for my vacay. I’m not telling you my destination yet (you may guess it). I am going all by myself which is a very big step for me. I’ve been thinking a long time before making this decision, because it’s very scary to travel alone and especially if you’re also very shy. So hopefully I’ll meet lots of friendly people there, clear my head from reality and have lots of fun.

Manicure and pedicure

After working full time at the hospital for a month, I decided to take a month off to get some rest. They say August is the Sunday of Summer (lucky me). As you all already know, I love painting my nails. Only this time I just wanted to spoil myself, so I booked an appointment at the beautician and let her take care of my hands and feet by giving me a mani/pedi. I haven’t had a manicure or a pedicure in a very long time, so I thought it’d be a great plan.

Glückwunsch Deutschland

Germany won the World Cup 2014 last night. They played 1-0 against Argentina in a very exciting match which probably gave most of the people a heart attack and high blood pressures. But they made it and it's all well deserved.

I didn’t use much this month because of the exams. And I’m not gonna add my books in my favourites because they definitely weren’t my favourite this month.

Belgium and Algeria will be playing against each other today. I have Belgian friends and will support their country today and cheer if they score. But as far as I know Belgium hasn’t played for 12 years in the World Cup. So I’m quite excited on how they’ll play today. I can’t stop seeing black, yellow and red dots at the moment. My nails look very simple. I lacked them in the colours of the Belgian flag and added some dots.

Ready for day five of the World cup?!

Germany and Portugal are one of the teams that will be playing today. Both strong teams with good players who will definitely let us all sit at the end of our chair for excitement. I will cheer for Portugal but I’m secretly hoping for a draw. As for my nails, I got inspired by the Portuguese flag and that’s not easy to do on your nails. I just lacked them dark green and red then I added some tiny gold rhinestones. You all (or some of you) have probably noticed me writing some things in Portuguese on Instagram. Portuguese is one of my native language so I decided to also write in Portuguese for you.

Le quatre journée de la Coupe du monde a commencé et aujourd’hui l'équipe de France joue contre Honduras

France is a place you just have to visit at least once. I can remember me going to France every year when I was a little girl. That’s the good part of having family there ;). Today my nails also look very simple. I used beautiful dark colours from Essence and did a stamping to place the famous Tour Eiffel on my middle finger.

Forza azzurri!

Ahh Italia. A country I’ve always dreamed of going there and that day will definitely come. It’s also a country with lots of influences in fashion. I mean, look how dashing the Italian players look on the picture below. Day three of the World Cup has started and today Italy will be playing against England. I will cheer for Italy and for my “brother” Balotelli. The famous name which mine is very similar of and also one of my nicknames. Yes I do have an Italian last name. Today’s nail art is very simple but I might have used some nail polish the wrong way. I used crack nail polish as a normal nail lack instead of a topcoat. And that also counts for the glitter topcoat. Well sometimes you just have to break the rules right?

Today a match will be played that has been played four years ago. The Netherlands-Spain. Spain-The Netherlands. Only this time it’s not the finals. Spain won the World Cup four years ago with 1-0. I love Spain I really do, I’ve been there last year and had the most incredible time of my life but today I just have to support my country. As usual all of the nail polish I use are from Essence. i got inspired by the Dutch flag and ofcourse the orange colour. I kept it very simple by just painting all of my nails orange and then red, white and blue (like the flag) at the corners of my nails.

Ready for Brasil!

Just a few hours left and the first match of the World Cup will be played. And of course Brazil is one of the first playing teams. Brazil will be playing against Croatia. I did this nail art as an inspiration of the Brazilian flag and I used the colours of the new Essence limited edition which is called “viva Brasil” (of course)

Who’s ready for the World cup? No wait let me say it in a different way. Are you ready for the World cup!!? I know I am. If you aren’t, then I’d say ya’ll get ready very soon because they’ll start tomorrow. Because of all the different time zones, a few matches will be played by night and even at midnight. So be prepared for some screaming hooligans and craziness that will kick off.

Kingsday 2014

If people would’ve made pictures of the Netherlands last week, you would’ve seen lots of orange spots. I’m talking about Kingsday that the Dutchies celebrated last week. It was amazing!

Centerparcs day 4

Waking up early has been very hard for me because we went to bed late the night before. Or maybe I just didn't want to wake up since it was the last day before going back home from the trip.

As I told you all before, I love to bake at home on Sundays. Unfortunately the bungalows didn’t have an oven in the kitchen so I decided to bake some pancakes for breakfast instead. According to all the empty plates after eating, everyone found it very delicious.

Today was kind of a combination of the good, the bad and... the lucky, I guess. I really have no idea how to describe the day. The group almost left without me in the car (the teacher thought I already sat in the car so she wanted to leave the parking with me between the doors). I’m cool though! At least I gave them something to laugh about on the road. Also I almost got hit by someone on a bicycle (he probably didn’t see me, even though I’m pretty visible by my skin colour compared to my classmates) thanks to myself for being clumsy me. Which is very normal by the way. But besides that it was a normal day.

As I told you, my classmates and I went on a school trip for four days.

I didn’t want to be anti social in front of my classmates by being all focused on the blog and leaving all the work for them to get done in the bungalow we stayed in. That’s why I took a break but am now back and ready to share all the things I’ve experienced during my time on the trip.

March favourites

Changing the season from Winter to Spring and also resetting the time an hour forward and all that in just one month. March was a very busy month for me with two birthdays within the family and more working shifts then I usually have. I am already glad to finally see more sunshine even though it can be chilly outside sometimes. The things I bought are mostly for the school trip I’m going on this month. Let me just show you exactly what I’m talking about.

Red lips don't care

I love red lipstick (on other girls) but I never had the guts to wear the daring colour myself. After waiting for a long time I came to a decision to get one anyway and of course it had to be a good one so I chose one of MAC and I love it. I don’t know how to put make up on properly like foundation or powder so I just do my eyes and wear lip balm or lip gloss.

February favourites

February was a strange month for me. I was hoping for snow since we didn’t had it during Christmas and in January but the sky kept dark and it didn’t stop raining which made it look like it was Autumn again. And as you may know, I got sick twice this month. I’m still dealing with a cold and a headache but I’m fine (I really am). So this month I had a thing with my hair. I still don’t know what products are the best for my hair so I have watched many videos on YouTube and I loved the results of a hair product which is called Mixed Chicks. No, don’t think the product can only be used by mixed people. You can use it whether you’re African, European, Asian, Latin, Mediterranean or any glorious combination of the above. I am by the way not an expert in hair products and things that has to do with the hair.

My January favourites

I decided to do a post about my January favourites because if I’ll wait any longer it won’t be of any use. January is the month of sales. You can find it everywhere in the supermarkets, at a drugstores and of course at the clothing stores. Despite the sales I didn’t buy much, which is very odd. Normally I’d set up an early alarm so I can be the first one at the mall to avoid all the craziness and drama women cause as soon as they see the word ‘sale’. Another reason for me not shopping is that my birthday was this month and I wanted to avoid buying things I might’ve received from friends and family, because that wouldn’t be the first time it happened. So I decided to buy just a few things I really needed instead.
