Dip & Dot

Hey sweeties!
In today's manicure I'll tell you about my very first nail art tool which is a dotting pen. Not everyone has a dotting pen at home and that's why I will show you what items you can use to make one.

Dotting pen

A dotting pen is a must have for those who just start doing nail art. As you can see you have different sizes so you can choose how big you want to have the dots on your nail.

1. Toothpick

Something that is normally made to remove food between your teeth can also be used as a dotting pen. Try this tool out for the tiniest dots. Keep the stick a little bit longer in the nail polish if you want some bigger dots.

2. Bobby Pin / hair grip

Girls know the struggles. No matter how often we buy new ones, we (somehow) lose them anyway. And it happens again and again. But these can also be used as a dotting pen. Bend the pin all the way open and dip it in the nail polish. It's that easy!

3. Straight pin

Be careful with this tool. For more control, you prick it in the eraser on the back of a pencil. Remember to take it off if you'll use the pencil.

4. The back of a makeup brush

Paint Brushes and makeup brushes are also very convenient. Use the back for larger dots.

And that's it. There you have your own dotting pens. Make sure to practice on a piece of paper first just to know how big the dots will be. Please leave a comment below with tips If you happen to know any other items that we can use as a dotting pen. Enjoy your Monday!
